Close your eyes and visualize the art!

Today, I wanted to share some of my many streams of thought also known as my attempt at poetry. I had a teacher once tell me in my English class in college that I write in a stream of consciousness. I realized that meant I write as if I am talking to a psychiatrist haha just kidding it means (taken from the internet)- a narrative device used in literature to "depict the multitudinous thoughts and feelings which pass through the mind. I feel that is a great word to describe how I write. Since I was younger I would always write ignoring the rules in the english language, just like when I think. When I am thinking I don't say I need to use a period, or that is a run on sentence, I just think. Below is me thinking...to some non-sense to others I hope art in poetry, close your eyes and imagine.......

Poem written in 2010 by me

As a child I felt that life was a treasure chest, where I held the key that was shaped like a key board.
It played white music and yellow melodies.
The lyricccccaaal beats of the ocean lead me to believe that an embrace was sweeter than candy a musical hall orchastrated to natures stillness
A constellation of dots in the sky were people waiting for the sun to rise.
It reflects the beauty and song of life.
Sitting down yesterday I observed how everyone has a story to tell, something that makes them unique individuals, like hand made pottery none are the same. God made each different.
Why can't today be a day to skip. A day to laugh because life is a garden, with trees to provide shade, I exist. Stay focused to the simplicity. My focus and inspiration is His Word.
Lets notice the laughter of a passerby, notice the signs of life. Like still life photographs capture and seize the moment like ice to remind you that time keeps moving like today, yesterday, tomorrow, seize today and grow fonder of it, I am content, and know greater things are yet to come. Hand me the map, I'll get in the boat. I hold the key to my hearts treasure. A destination.....
I gaze captivated by life. Sometimes I want to capture it in a box, and ship it to people's doorstep. Our existence is so intricate that it's captivating, I can't fathom it. If life was to place you in an empty room, with a lovely melody and hand you a treasure chest filled with crayons, in every color ever made. Would you sit there bored? Because their is no T.V., no cell phones, no music, or any form of electronics. Is the cup half empty or half full? Turn the room (life) into your white canvas (you have all the right tools). stream of thought.

Music artsy parts of life......

I photographed some jewelry that I am going to post up on etsy this weekend. I am still going for the fun eclectic look. I found some nice dresses also and skirts which I am going to photograph soon. The watches and necklace in the photograph I purchased this Sunday... I know they don't work but I am wearing them as bracelets. On a side note...I am watching America's Got Talent and I must say that it makes me want to sing. You know the feeling when you are in your car alone and  your favorite song comes on the radio then you start to sing on the top of your lungs and it sounds just like the artist singing....(well thats what I think when I sing:)...except deep down inside I know I don't sound great but it's fun...... :)

Flower Girl.....

Today :) I went to my local flea market and found some nice pieces to add to my shop on Etsy. It's still a work in progress but I am working on a collection. It will be for the eclectic girl who likes to be casual yet stylish. I've always been a fan of bohemian looks and that is the style I will be leaning more towards... at least for this collection. Treasure hunting I will do like a leprechaun (hope I am more of a cute one :) and then I'll put them up for reasonable prices on Etsy. The shops name will be Kites Fly Yellow. The name came from a poem that I wrote when I was younger. I will look for it and post it up. It means to me.... that life can be like a kite.... takes you places.... up or down.... but it will fly... it's meant to soar and bright up the day...that is its' purpose and the color yellow to me symbolizes smiles :D

I am working on starting an Etsy page as soon as I do many of the items I find can be your treasures, stay tuned. Coloring books of life like a box of crayons :D

Walked into a photograph.....

Tonight I am watching the premier of Project Runway and I can say so far they seem to have a good line up of designers, should be an interesting season. For this photo shoot this past weekend with my sister we went on a drive to find a cool back drop for photos. We ended up just pulling over on the side of the road and taking quick photos because there were many bugs flying around. I am wearing a dress I found at a yard sale for $3 and a chain necklace with two rings I also found for $1 brand American Eagle. The necklace with the blue bird was given to me as a gift from Walter :). My hair is pinned up in a bun and I realized that I might need a hair cut but I am going to wait until winter. I know it does not make sense.....short hair is for summer.... and long hair is for winter (you know hair is the new scarf:) but it's really a beanie). Tip of the day, when bargain hunting remember to look for jewelry, because you can use them as accessories with almost any outfit. They become staple pieces in your outfits! Yellow is the color of the sun and the color of a butterfly with a smile as it flew into a photograph....

When Kites Fly Yellow Just Fly........

My first fashion blog and "I wannabe a hipster" photo shoot with my sister (you can catch a reflection of her on my shades). Well, what I hope to share with this blog is to show you my cool findings that I buy on the weekends at, thrift stores, yard sales, flea markets, and bargain hunting. I've been yard sale shopping ever since I can remember. I recall going to yard sales in my bicycle (was too young for a car) and finding stuff for great deals! It's in my blood haha but really it is :). So, what I plan to do is post pics of stuff I find and share with you all the good info about it! Pictured is a shirt/shorts I got as a gift :) from someone very special to me thank you :) if you are reading this, I really like them! Belt was $2 at a garage sale, shades I found for $1 at a yard sale, shoes I found at crossroads $20, bracelets all found at yard sales ranging each for 25 cents to $1, and the hat my sis bought it in Tokyo. Stay tune and come and explore when kites fly yellow fly!
